ITTF Hot Spot confirmed in Auckland, New Zealand!

New Zealand is now home to one of only 22 officially sanctioned Table Tennis Hot Spots in the world.

New Zealand's Table Tennis Hot Spot is based in Auckland and will be a centre for training and development that will attract world-leading players, coaches, and specialists.

Table tennis athletes from New Zealand and the Oceania region will be regularly using the Hot Spot facility that is fully endorsed by both the International Table Tennis Federation and Table Tennis New Zealand.

2011 Lim Brothers ATTA Elite Player Scholarship recipients

Lim Brothers Import & Export Company Ltd. has kindly continued to donate funds for the 2011 season to assist in offering table tennis scholarships for leading Auckland junior table tennis players. Scholarships are awarded to players who had made significant sacrifice in order to develop their game, and to attend international table tennis events.

Recipients of Lim Brothers ATTA Elite Player Scholarships in 2011 are; Ruofei Rao (ITTF World Hopes Team), Roger Rao (qualified for 2011 Global Cadet Challenge), Sophia Dong (qualified for 2011 Global Cadet Challenge), Kevin Wu (selected in New Zealand senior men's team to compete at the 2011 World Table Tennis Championships), and Zhiyang Cheng (qualified the New Zealand Under 18 Boys' Team for the 2011 World Junior Championships).

2012 National-type tournaments allocation

The Auckland Table Tennis Association has been confirmed as hosts of the 2012 New Zealand Senior Open table tennis championships and the 2012 New Zealand Secondary Schools table tennis championships.

ASB Community Trust

The Auckland Table Tennis Association would like to acknowledge the support of ASB Community Trust in assisting with replacing all light fittings and lamps in the main playing floor area of the Cathay Pacific Auckland table tennis stadium and to supply and install additional fittings and lamps. The new fittings and lamps installed by Sunbright Lamp Distributors Ltd. offer improved light levels and substantial power savings given the modern technology that has been employed. Festival of Table Tennis - April 2010

The Auckland Table Tennis Association hosted the "Festival of Table Tennis" from 1st April - 18th April 2010 including Youth Olympic Games Qualification events, ITTF Elite Training Camp, KVB Kunlun New Zealand Junior & Cadet Open - ITTF Junior Circuit, and KVB Kunlun ITTF-Oceania Championships.

Electronic semaphore board

The Auckland Table Tennis Association has installed an electronic semaphore board that displays team and individual names to improve the running of stadium clubs, school competitions, and tournaments. The electronic semaphore board was supplied by HMI Technologies and is the largest indoor sports board in New Zealand.
